Student Dining Advisory Council
The purpose of the KU Memorial Union's Student Dining Advisory Council (S-DAC) is for KU students to present suggestions, concerns, praises, and ideas from the larger campus community to the management of KU Dining. S-DAC exists to enhance the voice of the KU student body by working directly with dining center managers and administrators.
S-DAC applications for fall 2017-spring 2018 are now open, and students may apply via the S-DAC online application form. Applications for Fall 2017 must be received by September 1, 2017.
S-DAC representatives receive a significant cash stipend each semester in exchange for their time, feedback, and insights as KU students. To be eligible to join S-DAC, students must be currently enrolled at the university, living in a residence hall, and have a meal plan through KU Dining.
S-DAC representatives obtain relevant feedback to better serve Dining customers as well as acting as advocates for KU Dining by informing their constituents (students living in their represented residence hall) about dining information, operations, and initiatives. S-DAC students attend a meeting every other Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. with senior Dining staff members, attend a meeting every other week with their respective dining center managers, and work two shifts at a dining hall during their first month (an average of 3 hours per shift).
