2020-2021 KU Dining Plans

At KU Dining Services, we pride ourselves in providing affordable and flexible dining services for KU students. 

What are my dining plan options?

 Rock Chalk All Access ($4,225 annually)

  • Eligible everywhere on campus
  • Unlimited access to all residential dining centers (North College Café, Mrs. E's, South Dining Commons) plus to-go meals from those location
  • Plusa 425 Dining Plan to be used at any campus retail space (disbursed in full on August 20, 2020 and billed with Fall 2020 charges)
  • 15% discount on all retail location purchases
Jayhawk Residential Unlimited ($3,800 annually)
  • Unlimited access to all residential dining centers (North College Café, Mrs. E's, South Dining Commons) plus to-go meals from those locations
  • You never have to worry about budgeting your dining plan
  • This plan does not include the retail locations.
Crimson Flex ($4,000) or Blue Flex ($3,600 annually)
  • Eligible everywhere on campus
  • 15% discount on all retail location purchases
  • Reduced pricing at residential dining halls ($6.00 for breakfast, $9.00 for brunch, lunch, and dinner)
  • Half of the balance will be disbursed at the beginning of the fall semester and the other half at the beginning of the spring semester
  • Declining Balance: in order to get full usage out of your flex plan, be sure to budget and plan accordingly. 
  • Balance rolls over from fall semester to spring semester. A limited amount will roll over from spring semester to the following fall semester as long as you sign up for a Dining Plan.
  • If you are a student who eats most meals on campus, the Crimson Flex may be the plan for you.
  • If you are a student who eats some meals on campus, the Blue Flex may be the plan for you.
425 Plan ($425)
  • Perfect for off-campus students, faculty, and staff
  • Eligible everywhere on campus.
  • 15% discount on all retail location purchases.
  • Reduced pricing at residential dining halls
  • Remains active as long as you are a student in good standing at KU and dining dollars rollover from semester to semester.

How do the KU Dining Plans work?

  • When you eat at Mrs. E’s, North College or South Dining Commons, the all-you-care-to-eat residential dining centers, you will pay $6.00 for breakfast (until 10:30am) and $9.00 for brunch, lunch or dinner.
  • When you eat at a retail dining location on campus, you will receive a 15% discount on all purchases.
    • *excludes Jayhawk Residential Unlimited
  • Begin Date: August 20, 2020
    • Plans active August 16, 2019 for early arrivals
  • Spring Load: January 16, 2021
    • Plans active by January 4, 2021 for early arrivals
    • Excludes $425 purchased for fall semester
  • End Date: May 14, 2021
    • Excludes 425 Plan - Your 425 Plan will roll over as long as you are enrolled as a KU Student and in good standing.
  • To Add Money to Your Existing Plan: 
    • 1) Log into the myKU portal. 2) Sign into "Student Housing" under “Services”, 3) Click on “Dining Plans” under “What do you want to do?”, 4) Click on “Add Money to Your Dining Plan” button.
  • To Change Plan: Log into the myKU portal and sign into Student Housing under “Services” or “Campus Life”. Choose “Dining Plan” under “What do you want to do?” 
    • Deadline to increase: until August 15, 2020 for the Fall semester and December 31, 2020 for the Spring semester.
    • Deadline to decrease or cancel optional plans: Fall semester deadline is September 4, 2020, 5:00 p.m. Spring semester deadline is January 29, 2021 5:00 p.m.
    • Cancelation: 
      • Off-campus or apartment-eligible students can cancel up to the deadlines or within two weeks of purchasing the dining plan less the amount used.
      • Housing residents will follow the Housing Cancelation policy.

Please note: Any remaining balance at the end of the fall semester will roll over to an active spring account.

If you sign up for a Fall 2022 KU Dining Plan by May 14, 2021, a maximum of $200 of your remaining balance will roll over to your Fall 2022 plan the first business day after deadline to cancel, September 3, 2022. If not, the remaining spring balance is forfeited.
